Configure SMS (Text Messaging)
ebs supports interfaces with a number of SMS (text message) providers and requires minimal setup once a provider has been selected.
The EBS4SMS licence is required to enable SMS messaging.
The setup is dependent on the SMS provider. Select from the following:
To configure the Collstream, Legacy or PageOne SMS providers:
- Acquire a username, password and URL from your SMS provider.

In ebs: central, open the ebs menu and then click the Options button.
The Options window is displayed.

Click the SMS option in the left-hand pane to display the Authentication Options screen.

Enter the relevant information in the fields.
Note: For Collstream customers, the SMS Provider URL must be set to https://www.collstream.co.uk/direct/PingRequest.aspx

Click Apply and then OK.
- Restart ebs: central to effect the changes.
To configure the GOV.UK Notify SMS provider:

Acquire the following details from the GOV.UK Notify service:

API Key - this can be created on the API Integration screen

Template ID - this can be acquired on the Templates screen after selecting a template
Note: When creating a template, you must include '((Message))' where you want the custom text to be entered in ebs: central. If you do not want a prefix or suffix, the entire template can be '((Message))'.

Click the Institution Settings button on the System ribbon.
The Institution Settings screen is displayed.

Select SMS (Text Messaging) from the Product Modules panel to display the SMS (Text Messaging) screen.

Enter the relevant information in the following fields:
- SMS provider name - select 'GOV.UK Notify SMS Provider Service' from the drop-down list

GOV.UK Notify API Key - this is the key you created on the GOV.UK site
Note: The API key is masked on saving.

GOV.UK Notify SMS Template ID - this is the Template ID of the template you created on the GOV.UK site
Note: The template ID is masked on saving.
- Click Save.
